On 27 July 2026 the Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Batumi Fuad Azizov, held a meeting with Shota Skhiladze Head of the Sarpi Border Customs Checkpoint. The meeting focused on the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Georgia, the further development of cooperation at the border customs checkpoint and measures to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient crossing of Azerbaijani citizens and cargo through the border. The parties also exchanged views on the operation of the Sarpi Border Customs Checkpoint, the management of passenger and vehicle traffic, enhancing the efficiency of border crossing procedures and the prompt handling of citizens requests. The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructive dialogue.
