On December 12, Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Batumi held event dedicated to the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Participants of the event was a minute's silence in memory of the great leader.

Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Batumi Rashad Ismayilov opened the event, noted Heydar Aliyev, the scale and uniqueness of his personality, his great contribution to the formation and development of a world-wide reputation of Heydar Aliyev, purposeful stance in protecting the country's national interests, and his high human qualities. Heydar Aliyev’s services to the Azerbaijani people is great. At the request of the people who came to power after the restoration of independence of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev prevented the disintegration of the country and demonstrated the unity of our country to the world.

The Consul General Rashad Ismayilov also said that, during last 13 years not being national leader among us  his most worthy successor  the policy of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan's statehood is even stronger determination of our people have witnessed incredible progress and rely on Azerbaijan's geopolitical power has real power.

Zurab Pataradze Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Adjara Levan Gorgiladze Minister of Health and Social Security and other government officials, the Turkish Consul General Yasin Temizkan, rector of Batumi State University Merabi Khalvashi, Head of Adjara PS tv Jemal Meqrelidze, Adjara Autonomous Republic Office and ministries, and "SOCAR-Georgia" company employees, intellectuals and members of Azerbaijani community attended the event

The exhibition and the film about the story of the life of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was shown at the event.
