The Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Batumi Parviz Ismailzadeh held an official meeting on May 14, 2018 with the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara David Gabaidze.
During the meeting D. Gabaidze congratulated the Consul General Parviz Ismayilzade with the assignment to a new position and wished him success in his activities.
David Gabaidze, Chairman of the Supreme Council, touching on the friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, noted the dynamic every year growth in the political, military, economic and other spheres between two countries, expressing satisfaction with the successful development in all spheres. He stressed the importance of the "Baku-Tbilisi-Kars" project of global significance, jointly implemented by the countries. He expressed confidence that cooperation will continue to develop further.
Then he started a conversation about a memorandum, signed between the parliament by the parliament of Adjara AR and the Milli Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. He shared the results achieved in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres between the regions with Consul General Parviz Ismailzade.
D.Gabaidze expressed deep gratitude to Consul General Parviz Ismayilzade for gas supply by SOCAR to the regions of Adjara prior to the parliamentary elections held in Georgia.
The Chairman of the Council pointed out that the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic were sister regions, and spoke about the development of bilateral relations in the sphere of education and health in this direction.
The Consul General Parviz Ismayilzade said that Azerbaijan is a strategic and economic partner with the Georgian state and noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, always attached great importance to this region and stressed the importance of strengthening mutual efforts for the development of economic and humanitarian cooperation.
David Gabaidze promised to establish close cooperation with the Consul General and presented souvenirs as a sign of respect.
The Consul General Parviz Ismayilzade expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the Supreme Council for the warm welcome and hospitality and noted that, in fulfilling his duties, he will adhere to the values and principles that bind the Azerbaijani and Georgian people, two neighboring and friendly countries and their certain regions throughout the centuries.
