On April 4, 2018 the Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Batumi Parviz Ismayilzade met with the Rector of the Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Professor Merab Khalvashi

On April 4, 2018, the Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Batumi Parviz Ismayilzade held a courtesy meeting with the Rector of the Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Professor Merab Khalvashi.

During the meeting, the prospects for cooperation in the field of education were discussed, and a great potential for expanding this cooperation was higlighted.

The Consul General stressed that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, has always attached great importance to the development of science and education and emphasized an importance of strengthening joint efforts for the development of cooperation in the field of education. The diplomat stressed that Azerbaijan is an important partner for Georgia. These friendly and partnership relations are based on deep roots.

Meanwhile, Merab Khalvashi noted that the Head of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Vasif Talibov, made great efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, expand the ties between the Batumi State University and the Nakhchivan State University, as well as the development of science and education.

Rector of the Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Merab Khalvashi noted their interest in development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of education, stressing an importance of appropriate measures for further deepening relations in education between the two countries.

Afterwards, the Consul General Parviz Ismayilzade met with an audience of the "Azerbaijan Research Center named after Heydar Aliyev”, operating at the University, met with Azerbaijani students studying at the university, asked about their life and education-related problems.
