The Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Batumi Parviz Ismayilzade met with the Head of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Zurab Pataradze

On May 4, 2018, the Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Batumi Parviz Ismailzadeh held an official meeting with the Head of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Zurab Pataradze.

  1. Pataradze congratulated the Consul General Parviz Ismayilzade with his assignment to a new position and wished him success in his activities.
  2. Pataradze expressed his satisfaction with the successful development of friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia in all spheres. He stressed the importance of the "Baku-Tbilisi-Kars" project of global significance, jointly implemented by the countries. He expressed confidence that cooperation will continue to develop further.

In addition, Z. Pataradze expressed deep gratitude to the Consul General Parviz Ismayilzade for gas supply by SOCAR to the regions of Adjara prior to the parliamentary elections held in Georgia.

In the meantime he pointed out that the Autonomous Republic of Adjara and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic were sister regions, and spoke about the development of bilateral relations in the sphere of education and health in this direction.

The Consul General Parviz Ismayilzade said that Azerbaijan is a strategic and economic partner with the Georgian state and noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, always attached great importance to this region and stressed the importance of strengthening mutual efforts for the development of economic and humanitarian cooperation.

The Consul General Parviz Ismayilzade spoke about the prospects of the economic sphere in Adjara AR. Z. Pataradze said that it is important to hold domestic political economic forums in this direction.

He also stated that the newly appeared Adjara airlines will soon begin their flights on the route Batumi-Nakhchivan, Batumi-Baku.

Touching on the tourism sector, the Head of AR noted that the number of tourists from Azerbaijan keeps growing every year.

In his turn, the Consul General P. Ismailzade told about the organization of tourist trips of Georgian citizens to Azerbaijan and stressed the importance of its development.
