On 17 April 2026, the Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Batumi Fuad Azizov, held a meeting with the newly elected Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Tsotne Ananidze.
The meeting was attended by Consul General Fuad Azizov, Vice-Consul Mahbuba Namazova, as well as Deputy Chairman Ramaz Jintcharadze and member of the Supreme Council Fati Khalvashi from the Adjara side.
During the meeting Tsotne Ananidze warmly greeted the Consul General and expressed his satisfaction and highly appreciated the prospects for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia.
In turn, Fuad Azizov congratulated Tsotne Ananidze on his election as Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara. He emphasized the importance of further strengthening inter-regional economic, humanitarian, cultural and inter-parliamentary relations. At the same time, the Consul General particularly noted the importance of establishing closer and more effective cooperative relations between the two regions.
The meeting was held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and constructive dialogue. The parties expressed their readiness to continue efforts to expand cooperation.
